Our workshops will be limited to 25 to 30 students.Wafu Teshigahara will be available for 3 workshops with the assistance of his daughter and Mrs. Fusako Hoyrup and her students.

Kika Shibata, Riji of the Sogetsu school will present a Sogetsu workshop making your own container from recycled material.

Joan Suzuki, Sogetsu Riji, will give an additional evening workshop on Tuesday evening.

Shuji Ikeda will lead a Shoka Shimputai workshop.

Sumi Metz, Director of the Aratame Ryu School will give a class in the art of flax and palm weaving which will add beautiful and interesting line to your arrangements.You will use it in your arrangement.

Ingrid Luders,Grand Master in the Ohara School will present a class in the ONE ROW FORM or NARABU-KATACHI arrangements for both beginning and advanced students. New students of Ohara will use the Hana-mae container and advanced students may use multiple containers, either flat dishes or tall containers.

Elaine Jo, Grand Master in the Ichiyo School will lead a workshop.
The workshop will be the following: Moribana Style Using "Ichiyo Nageire Techniques". Creating an arrangement without the use of a kenzan requires techniques which usually apply to tall vase nageire style ikebana. This workshop will introduce various supports and cutting techniques for arranging a moribana style without a kenzan.

The Sogetsu San Francisco Study Group has organized a large outdoor workshop. This is listed in the program schedule on Monday, May 12, and has been very popular. It is now filled. These arrangements will be on a large outdoor plaza at the Portola Plaza Hotel during the Conference.
